Whitney & Sean

Whitney and Sean met during the summer at a friends house while the two were in college. As soon as they saw each other, there was instant chemistry! Sean thought Whitney was way out of her league and Whitney was struck with how attractive Sean was and even admitted her first thought was, “Who is that HOT guy??” Sean made it a point to get Whitney’s number and shortly called her to ask her out on a date. Their first date was at the Cheesecake Factory and their first kiss was on a raft. Obviously they hit it off because they are going strong for 7 years now. While in Cabo at the beach without anyone in sight, Sean got down on one knee and proposed to Whitney. He almost got taken out by a wave in the process but she said yes and the two were engaged to be married. They looked at winery after winery and ended up looking at around 30 wineries and finally decided on the first winery they visited! It is an added bonus that their venue is a 7 minute drive from our house!! We can’t wait to share these pictures with you and can’t wait for their wedding!! Enjoy! We took their engagement photos at Apple Hill which is one of our FAVORITE spots in fall! We had to hop a fence and stopped at two locations there and it was so worth it!!

Leah & Ryan

Leah & Ryan met through Ryan’s sister Kim who Leah had worked with at a previous job. Leah said Kim “was hosting a Christmas get together which is where we first met, and we hit it off immediately through jokes as we both tend to interact primarily through our sense of humor. She had been telling both of us that we should meet because we are the same person and have a lot in common, and once we met we knew she was right!” Ryan immediately asked Leah out and they had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory and a movie. Leah said “our first kiss was unexpected, but perfect!” Clearly their first date and first kiss were a hit because they have been together 4 years this December! After 4 years they still manage to keep the romance alive and Ryan still randomly texts Leah the lyrics to Die a Happy Man by Thomas Rhett throughout the day. They bond over football, movies, traveling, and family game nights. They even manage to get along despite supporting Rival Football teams! As Ryan and Leah were leaving for a trip to Monterey, just about to walk out the door, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed to her. According to Ryan, it did not got as planned. He initially was going to propose in Monterey, but according to him, Leah is “too damn smart for her own good”. Leah said, “In my defense, Ryan wears his heart on his sleeve making him very easy to read. Because of this, he panicked and did it right in front of the front door of the apartment as we were walking out to leave for our trip!” All rushing and things not going according to plan aside, Leah was thrilled to say yes! When I asked if there are any fun or interesting stories about planning their wedding, Leah said “Wedding? Oh Ya! We should probably get started on that! 😉 The wedding is in February of 2018, and will be in Hawaii!” They can’t wait to start planning their wedding in beautiful Hawaii and celebrate their love with one another with all of their closest family members! We had such a blast during their shoot and even dragged them out at the crack of dawn to get that beautiful early morning light. We used two beautiful hidden parks in El Dorado Hills and captured so much of Leah and Ryan’s personality, from their elegant romance, to their playful love for Football! We had such a blast, enjoy their photos!!

Tara & Javier

Tara and Javier met at R15 in downtown Sacramento while out with friends. They were both watching a Cold War Kids music video playing above the bar while they were waiting for their drinks and instantly noticed eachother. After watching Tara for awhile, Javier walked up to her and said “I normally don’t do this, but I know I’m going to kick myself tomorrow if I don’t ask for your number.” He bought her a PBR and they have been madly in love ever since! Their first date was a Temple Coffee in downtown Sacramento and they instantly hit it off. In a rush to leave the house on time, Javier didn’t realize that his sweater he wore on their first date had shrank slightly in the dryer. Of course, Tara was so smitten with him she hardly noticed! Clearly their first date was a hit because 6 years later and they are still as in love as ever! They bond over Olympic style Weightligting, traveling, live music, and of course their fur-baby Roscoe. While traveling in St. Lucia, Javier brought along their brand new go pro. He asked Tara to stand in so he could test a shot to catch the perfect sunset timelapse. Tara was slightly annoying but stood on the balcony and he directed her to the center of the shot. Then, he got up and joined her on the deck and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, getting the whole thing on video. Little did she know he had hidden the ring in the go pro bag the whole time knowing that she would never bother to look in there.
Tara and Javier love listening to live music and love taking trips to shows in Berkeley, catching a musical festival such as Coachella Fest because as Tara said “he’s my favorite person to rock out with.” You can tell these two are best friends and even made something that could be stressful, like finding a wedding venue, into an excuse for an epic adventure. They drove out to Joshua Tree in search of a venue, went wine tasting in Temecula, searched Palm Springs high and low, visited Napa Valley and the Santa Cruz mountails until Javier finally found the perfect spot: a private residence in Murphys, Ca. When I asked them what about their wedding excites them, Tara said, “wedding planning can be stressful, but we’ve both found it’s also really fun. the amount of love and support we received after we got engaged has made us so excited to plan a day where we get to celebrate our love with the people in our lives.” These two were so fun to work with and are such beautiful people inside and out! They have such a laid back vibe but you can tell they know how to have a good time and live life to the fullest! We are so glad we got to recreate their meeting and their first date with these beautiful photos taken at R15 and Temple Coffee in Downtown Sacramento and then over to Land Park with their gorgeous Labradoodle! Enough from me, here are their pictures!!

Sadie & Chris’ Wedding

Sadie and Chris’ wedding started out at a beautiful and charming country house in Placerville where Sadie and her girls got ready and enjoyed some bubbly. We then headed over to Sequoia Mansion in Placerville where the ceremony and reception took place. Both locations were so full of charm and beautiful decor! From the getting ready, to the first look (have we told you lately you should DEFINITELY consider a first look), to the ceremony and reception, this whole day was so beautiful and seemed effortless although we know all too well that it takes an amazing team of people and lots of hard work for the day to seem effortless and smooth! We can’t say enough about this venue, the whole team that put this beautiful wedding together, and the wonderful couple! Sadie and Chris seemed to enjoy every moment and were so fun to work with! Enjoy their photos and check out their vendors, they were amazing!!
