Jenn & Garrett

Jenn and Garrett met at a bar in midtown through mutual friends over four years ago. Garrett asked Jenn out several times before she finally said yes. Their first date was Ju Hachi, a sushi restaurant. Garrett had shoulder length hair at the time and was so nervous, he made several comments about how it was parted and mentioned that he had even asked a friend if it looked ok. Jenn found it endearing and the two hit it off. They still spend every anniversary at Ju Hachi to reminisce. In fact, on their 4 year anniversary, in their apartment, on the way out the door to sushi, Garrett got down and one knee and proposed to Jenn. Garrett had actually booked a trip to Portland, Oregon, where he planned to propose, but he was so nervous and wanted to do it on their anniversary, that he decided do it right there and then. Jenn of course said yes and the rest is history, as they say. Jenn and Garrett were so fun to work with on their shoot and we had so much fun capturing their style and capturing the charm in downtown Sacramento. We can’t wait for their upcoming wedding in downtown Sacramento. Enjoy these pictures from their engagement shoot!

Sadie & Chris

Sadie and Chris’s love story started when they met at midtown at a bar called R15 back in 2010, so it seemed only fitting that their engagement session took place at Capital Park in downtown Sacramento. Six years ago, at R15, Sadie was out with a couple friends and was cheering on USA’s soccer team. Chris heard her chanting, “USA! USA! USA!” and decided to strike up a conversation about soccer. As they talked about soccer and what teams they were on, Sadie and Chris realized that the night before, Sadie’s team had played Chris’ team but he just happened to miss the game. Chris attributes his teams’ loss to his absence and assured Sadie that had he been there, his team would have definitely won. After talking even further, they realized they also worked in the same building complex in Gold River! Then, when Sadie ordered a Jack and Coke at the bar, Chris was taken aback and told her that was his go to drink as well. The similarities were too many too ignore and the connection between them seemed instant. They had their first official date at Burgers and Brew and often met at a place with a picnic area and a waterfall which they call their “Waterfall Rendezvous”. They dated for several years and Chris finally knew it was time to propose. He started planning a trip Portland to see Sac Rebublic FC play and wanted to see a few waterfalls while they were there. He kept showing Sadie photo after photo of waterfalls and she said she thought to herself “Wow, he’s realllllly into these waterfalls”. They went to Bridal Veil Falls and had a wonderful time with their family present as well. On their way out, there was a darling bridge that overlooked the falls and Chris took her onto the bridge and asked his family and best friend to take a photo. As they posed for a picture, Chris got down on one knee and asked Sadie to marry him with a beautiful ring. Sadie was so surprised she shouted “are you F*ing kidding me?” while choking back tears and almost forgot to say yes. They were both exctatic to be engaged and couldn’t wait to start planning. Chris later told Sadie that the plane ride to Portland had been one of the longest plane rides ever. He said it was one of the scariest moments ever when he was asked to stow his carry-on, with the engagement ring in it, under the plane. We had so much fun photographing this couple and can’t wait for their September wedding in Sacramento. Capital park was the perfect place for these two and has so much charm and variety. I reccomend using the park and surrounding area for engagement sessions all year round!

Priscilla & Sergio

Priscilla and Sergio met when they were 15 and 16. After meeting Priscilla, Sergio knew that he liked her right away. It took him a few months to muster up the courage to ask her out and she shot him down. After a year, Sergio tried again and asked her out once more and finally Priscilla agreed, “persistence is key” she said. On their first date, they went to the movies, and as it goes with young love, Priscilla’s mom dropped them off at the theater. Being the rebelions that they were, they snuck into see Role Models, which is rated R…I know, so scandalous. After years of dating, the time was finally right and Sergio decided to take Priscilla to a beach in San Fransisco and pop the question. Little did he know, the beach he took her to was actually a nude beach. Thank goodness, the only thing that popped out was a ring, and they were spared any unwanted nudity. Priscilla was so happy to say yes and the two were so thrilled to be engaged. As the two walked hand in hand up the hill, Sergio had a massive asthma attack, but luckily his cousin was there to run to get his inhaler and saved the day. Sergio and Priscilla are bonded by their religious faith and read the bible together every Tuesday. If you don’t see Sergio and Priscilla out and about it is probably because they are at home snuggled up watching The Walking Dead, their favorite show! They were so fun to work with during their Fall themed shoot and we are so excited for their upcoming wedding! We were cracking up laughing with them during our shoot and we are so honored we get to work with them again!! We hope you enjoy pictures from their session!

Kimberly & Brian

Kimberly and Brian’s Enchanted Forest Wedding was nothing short of magical. These two met a few years ago through friends. Brian said, “When I happened to see a rather nerdy post Kim put on our friend’s Facebook page, I decided I’d try my luck at a cheesy yet classically romantic message to let her know I’m interestied in dating her. It worked!” Kimberly said that it was just so cheesy, she had to respond! Brian asked her out to dinner at Sapporo and even overcame his stage fright and impressed Kimberly with his Karaoke skills at the Distillery and they hit it off right away. Around Christmas time Brian walked Kimberly down a Christmas-lit street in the Fab 40’s of Sacramento and tried to make small talk. Suddenly he got sappy and said things like “I want to have this house with you one day, and I hope to have a future with you.” At first, Kimberly thought he was saying he bought the house so she of course started to panic a little, but then he got down on one knee and proposed to her. Despite Kimberly being frozen, given that she was wearing a dress and leggings in the dead of winter, she said yes and the two kissed and were engaged to be married. Their wedding that followed their engagement was so beautiful and represented their love for Lord of the Rings, and all things enchanted and magical. When Brian saw Kimberly walk down the isle for the first time, you could tell he was fighting back tears! He said, “I gasped and forced myself to keep my man-face and not to show a tear.” Kimberly’s nerves were apparent as she walked down the isle and later said, “I just really didn’t want to mess up in front of everybody. I felt relief once I got there, to the altar, that I made it throught the last eight months of wedding planning.” Besides their cake falling due to the heat of the summer, and yes we got a photo of it before it fell, the day went off without a hitch. Kimberly had fun dancing the night away with loved ones and said, “having everyone I care about, all in the same room, it was magical!” Brian had a blast during the reception as well and said that dancing with his Mother made him so happy, and she even told him that she was so proud of him, which was a particularly special moment. Their wedding was such a joy to capture and we feel so honored to have been there to capture all of the beautiful, Awe moments, which were plentiful. Please enjoy these photos from their beautiful wedding!!

Jessica & Brad

Jessica and Brad had a beautiful Winter Wonderland Wedding in Tahoe at the Edgewood Golf Course. All the stars aligned perfectly for their wedding and mother nature graced them with gorgeous weather. The ground was covered with a perfect blanket of soft white snow and not a rain drop in the sky. Jessica was such a graceful, beautiful, and fearless bride. She even bared the cold snow in nothing but her beautiful lace dress and her elegant (and sparkly) flats. Besides throwing a coat over her in between shots, simply so she didn’t lose complete sensation in her fingers and toes, she braved the weather like a champ! I ask all my brides if they are more nervous or more excited and often times they say they are nervous, but Jessica said, “I am so excited!” A true Daddy’s girl, she was so antsy for him to see her in her dress for the first time and teared up when she gave him a hug, I might have teared up as well…shhhh. Jessica picked wonderful ladies to be her Bridesmaids and they were so great at keeping her calm and bringing lots of positive excited energy to the table. Brad was such a fun, relaxed Groom and so fun to work with. He and his Groomsmen were cracking jokes and laughing throughout the whole day, definitely a healthy competitive spirit amongst them!

You should have seen the look on Brad’s face when Jessica walked down the isle, he looked so excited, happy, and no doubt about it; he had the look of love! After all the group pictures and pictures with Jessica and Brad, the party really got started! Everyone danced and everyone, including grandparents, wore glow sticks around their necks and danced the night away! From the getting ready photos, to the ceremony, to the reception, this couple, and their families, have been such a joy to work with and we can’t tell you how in love we are with their photos. Here are just some of our favorites……..
