Sophia and Raye’s wedding

These two have a no fuss wedding DOWN. As photographers, there are always a few things that run through your mind before the day of a wedding: How smoothly will this day go? Will I be dealing with a bride-zilla? Will the groom co-operate, or hate having his photo taken? These things can be quite common, (all though we have been very lucky to never encounter the dangerous creature that is a bride-zilla) but all our fears were quickly dismissed after spending just a few minutes with Sophia and Raye. We started at Hawk’s Hill which overlooks the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and has gorgeous views of the fog rolling over the bay. The wind was chilly and we had a few extra minutes so, being the go-with-the-flow types that they are, we decided to go to the beautiful Exploratorium which is just a short drive away. Then, after that, we headed to the church where they had their beautiful ceremony. From the posed pictures before, to the ceremony, to the family photos after, they were so easy going and fun to work with which always makes for great photos! I can’t emphasize enough to brides and grooms out there to meet their photographers before the day of the wedding and decide if your personalities match before hiring them! This wedding is the perfect example that when the bride and groom get along with their photographer/s, true magic happens. Enjoy these photos from their beautiful wedding!

Tahmina and Brad

Wow, this has been a busy season for us…weddings, family portraits, maternity photos, and more. It’s been such a fun time for our business and we are so proud of how many new clients we’ve worked with, but we are definitely playing catch up and trying to finish a few projects. In the meantime, we thought we would share some highlights from our wedding with Tahmina and Brad. It is better late than never, right? First of all, this couple is so much fun to work with! Tahmina has such a sweet but down to earth personality, you can’t help but laugh and join in on jokes with her and her bridesmaids. Brad was such a fun Groom, and boy did he tear up the dance floor! Their wedding day could not have been more beautiful with their beautiful location, the Grand Island Mansion; their wonderful florist; Tahmina’s not one, but two beautiful dresses; and all of the beautiful decorations. It was such a pleasure to work with this couple and we are so pleased that they are as happy with the photos as we are. Enjoy these highlights from their BIG DAY!

Match or Clash?

It’s a rare thing to find one’s counterparts in another. Usually personalities can clash and preferences can conflict. The more that you work with a person, the more the differences between the two of you can become quite apparent. I am so the go with the flow type, I like to grab the camera and strap it to my neck and chase a kid through the grass to get THE shot. Andy is more methodical, he’ll take his time to set up the lights and test the shot several times, making sure the light is right, the ISO is set correctly, the f stop is set appropriately, and everyone is in position, before getting THE shot. You might think these differences can make it hard to work together, but it’s quite the opposite. It is so nice to find someone that has strength in all the areas you have a weakness and someone that leans on your strength in all of their weaknesses. Over the past year, we have found such an amazing groove together and have had such a blast building our portfolio and perfecting our art. We will never stop learning and growing in our business and we will never stop pushing ourselves to new heights. That is the wonderful thing about our business, there is always some new toy to play with or some new technique to learn, we are always moving forward and never bored. Simply put, we love what we do and we have made a pretty great team. We hope to share a special moment with you soon so we can capture all of your life’s Awe moments.

Passion

Do you ever just wake up and think, how did I get so lucky to have such passion and drive in my life? Everyday that we photograph a wedding, this is exactly how we feel. We had so much fun photographing Jeff and Lorraine’s wedding last weekend and can’t wait to share their story with you in an upcoming blog, with lots of photos. We thank our lucky stars everyday that we have found a passion in life that drives us to push our skills further and to always learn and grow and never settle for less. We thank you and all of our clients for their faith in us and your support in our business. It’s not always easy to push away the doubt or the naysayers and start a business up from nothing, but it is because of all of you and our passion that we keep pushing ourselves to expand and grow. Stay tuned for lots more to come!!

Don’t you just love technology?!

So it has recently come to our attention that our spam catcher on our comment section is not working properly. We try our best to filter spam, since we currently have 8,000 spam comments, but apparently more legit comments fell through the cracks than we realized. We hope that if you read this blog, and you wish to contact us, you do so through our CONTACT US section of our website and not through our comment section since we are currently trying to fix all of the bugs. Hopefully we will have this problem resolved very soon, but until then, just contact us through email please. Ahhhh. . . . .don’t you just love technology?
